Founded in 1971, the Abbotsford Arts Council is a non-profit and charity dedicated to showcasing emerging visual artists and musicians from the Fraser Valley and surrounding areas. Our events include monthly exhibits at the Kariton Gallery; a community gathering place for activities that advance reconciliation within the Downie Wenjack Legacy Space; the Jam in Jubilee and Mill Lake Music festivals; and the annual Arty Awards, which celebrate local artists. We have primarily operated in person but have expanded to include online exhibitions and vending opportunities for local artisans. The Programming Assistant will be an integral member of the AAC. They will be primarily responsible for assisting with the overall coordination of the Abbotsford Arts Council’s summer programming, which includes curated exhibitions, public calls for community art, and two music festivals.
